This exciting activity is a very popular activity on our programme so please book quickly, a three-day course developing paddling skills on both flat and moving water. Each day we will visit a different more challenging venue, building up to a grade 2 river trip. Participants need to be extremely water confident and able to swim 25m. FAQ’s 1. How old do I need to be? The programme is for primary 7 to secondary year 6 pupils. 2. What if I’m not sure about an activity? Some activities involve going on a journey and so need 100% involvement so please do not book a place on this type of activity unless you are 100% confident in your ability to take part. 3. What should I bring? All technical equipment is provided such as wetsuits, bikes, helmets, harnesses, kayaks etc. Packing essentials for each activity include appropriate clothing for the activity and the weather on the day, a complete change of clothes including footwear, a towel, a packed lunch and any medication that you may need for the day. For all water activity, please also bring an old pair of trainers and shorts. 4. Where do I go on the day? All activities will start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Camp notes
All activities will meet at 10am and the KGV pavilion in Renfrew If you are unsure where we are google either Renfrew High (we are across the carpark) or Renfrew cricket club and run till 4pm.
For all activities, please ensure your child has the following:
• Complete change of clothes and a towel.
• Packed lunch
• Plenty to drink
• Any medication they require.
• Sun cream / block
• Midge repellent
Money is not required but sometimes we end up in the vicinity of shops and some children in the past have bought themselves an ice cream or cold drink.
For all paddle sports sessions (inc kayaking).
We will provide wetsuit and boots, cags and all other necessary equipment. But for under the wetsuit the best option for boys would be swim shorts or boxers and for girls swimsuit, bikini or a sports bra / top and lycra shorts.
A great option for this session is a big hoodie to wear over the top for traveling and getting changed at the end.
